written originally on a mini (child's) guitar with four strings on the back porch. i like to keep it simple. i think this song was 2nd take, but the 1st take we didn't make it thru w/out stopping so this is the 1st time we'd ever actually played the whole song. the outtro is pretty much the same as the intro, but when we got to that point we realized we didn't plan an ending at all so we kind of guessed and got lucky. bret's "lone snare" ending was perfect for the song, i thought.
